A letter to parents from Mrs Wynne & Mrs Morris

Dear Parents,

Our names are Mrs Morris and Mrs Wynne and we are very excited about being your child’s Reception teachers in September at St. Oswald’s RC Primary School. Mrs Wood is our nursery nurse, who works alongside us every day. We hope that this message finds you safe and well.

Due to the current circumstances, the usual transition period will look a little different this year.

We have sent out a pack containing the following:

  1. A booklet to show your child so that they can become familiar with his/her teachers’ faces and start to learn our names.

  2. A little activity for you to do with your child so that we can get to know them a little before meeting them properly.

  3. A list of questions that we would like to ask you when we speak to you on the phone which will help us to get to know your child better.

  4. A few tips about starting school.

  5. A copy of our school prospectus.

We would normally hold transition meetings in the Summer term to get to know more about your child, their health and how they socialise with others. Due to the current situation, we arranged telephone meetings to collect this information. We enclosed the forms we fill out in school to give you an indication of the questions we might ask. These forms do not need to be returned to school and are simply for your reference.

We have spoken to most of you during a telephone appointment but if we have not yet been able to arrange a call, please contact the school office on 0191 285 2437, to book a phone consultation with either of us.

In the meantime, if you could return the information requested in the pack, it would be greatly appreciated.

We really look forward to meeting you all and welcoming you to our wonderful school. We know that you will have a brilliant time here!

If you need any more information, please do not hesitate to get in touch on the school telephone number or the email address which can be found on our website.

Stay safe and see you soon,

Mrs Katie Morris and Mrs Kathryn Wynne
