Year 5 have planned and implemented an investigation into germination. Working in small groups, we first discussed the different factors that affect germination. After that we decided which factor to use as our independent variable and then planned how we would control all the other variables to ensure a fair test. We also discussed how we will measure and record our results. Subsequently we shared our plans with the rest of the class in order to receive feedback and ensure we had thought everything through. Once the planning was done, we panted our seeds and labelled them, changing our chosen factor. We will continue to monitor the pots over the coming weeks and will keep a record of results.
