Last week Year 4 enjoyed a brilliant visit to Jarrow Hall (Bede's World) as part of our History topic Anglo-Saxons.  We acted out some crime and punishment scenes and also took part in a mock battle against the vicious Vikings! It was great fun!
In the afternoon we looked around a typical Anglo-Saxon farm, discovered the many uses of animals and then saw some replica houses from those times.  We entered a 'Great Hall' and listened to the ancient legend of Beowulf - around a roaring fire!  It was extremely atmospheric!
It was fun putting Mrs McConnell in the stocks and throwing fruit at her!
