Promoting British Values

We gathered together this morning to learn about British Values and how we live these out at St Oswald's. we also linked it with St George's Day where the children showed an excellent knowledge of our country's patron saint.
Over the next 5 weeks, we will be looking at the different areas of British Values in our House group sessions.
During our Whole Class assembly this morning, we learned about St David, the Patron Saint of Wales. We talked about his life and his affiliation to Wales. One of the children from Reception even came to school in traditional Welsh dress.
The Faith in Action team led the whole school in a beautiful Remembrance Service to commemorate 100 years since the end of WW1. We remembered especially the service men who died from our own parish.
Year 3 created some beautiful clay poppies which they painted and then placed beneath a tree outside of the school entrance as a reminder of those who lost their lives during the First World War.
